Any piece primarily about awards granted to members (including businesses) and others eg List of Awards & Honours, business awards eg Small Business of the Year etc.
It’s important to remember that there is a difference between an award and an honour: An award is an achievement to be worked toward, a goal or a recognition to be earned. You can apply for an award. An honour, however, is granted without the recipient knowing about it until it is announced.
An Achievement is a separate category eg a sporting or competiton result is an achievement.

As a fourth-generation winemaker, Tyrrell first joined his family’s business full time in 1974 and has been a key industry figure ever since. Established in 1858, Tyrrell’s has the joint honour of being Australia’s second oldest continually owned and operated family winery. In 2006, Tyrrell was recognised for his contribution to the Australian wine community with an Order of Australia Medal. His contributions have included improving grape quality, research, tourism, and export opportunities. In 2009, he was named a Hunter Valley Living Legend at the Hunter Valley Wine Industry Awards.
Garth Hungerford (the son of our past patron, the Hon Barrie Hungerford) is a vital member of the Wagga community as a health advocate and advisor.
He was recently honoured with the Volunteer of the Year award at the 24th Annual NSW Health Awards.
