Queen Margrethe’s second born son, Prince Joachim of Denmark (born in 1969) spent a year on a farm near Wagga Wagga in NSW from 1986-1987. The Queen and her husband Henri came to Australia in 1987 to visit him and while here, on the 6 February 1987, visited the Winery in the Hunter Valley. They were accompanied by Prince Joachim.

As a fourth-generation winemaker, Tyrrell first joined his family’s business full time in 1974 and has been a key industry figure ever since. Established in 1858, Tyrrell’s has the joint honour of being Australia’s second oldest continually owned and operated family winery. In 2006, Tyrrell was recognised for his contribution to the Australian wine community with an Order of Australia Medal. His contributions have included improving grape quality, research, tourism, and export opportunities. In 2009, he was named a Hunter Valley Living Legend at the Hunter Valley Wine Industry Awards.
University of Divinity Chancellor Dr Graeme Blackman AO announced on 8 September 2023 that Professor Peter Sherlock [E.4.1a.6b.5c.1d.2e] will step down as Vice-Chancellor in March 2024 after 12 years leading the University of Divinity.

Our 2022 Annual General Meeting was held at Tyrrells Wines on 19 November 2022. Attendees were greeted on arrival with tea or coffee before the AGM started at 12 o’clock. The Meeting was well attended with 39 members and guests present as well as five proxies being lodged.
