In 2015, HAFS published In Remembrance: Hungerford and Associated Families in the Great War 1914-1918 which was put together for the Anzac Day 2015 Centenary.

HAFS member D Evan Evans [E2.2a.5b.2c.1d.1e] has now extracted core information from this publication and made it available in the PDF file below. This file lists Hungerford’s who served in WWI in the AIF, NZ forces or otherwise for the Empire. In all there are 139 records for these men and women who served their country.

Evan has also uploaded this information to the Virtual War Memorial Australia which aggregates and displays each members’ service. As would be expected for the Hungerford’s there is a very good strike rate of providing photos of each of those who served. If you can fill in any of the blanks, please…. It is also interactive so that anybody who would like to honour an ancestor is able to make their own contribution. The files prepared by Evan also contain links for each person to their entry on the Virtual War Memorial Australia website.

You can scroll the PDF embedded below or press the “Download PDF” button to open the index in a new window and expand it for searching the contents (use Ctrl F).  The PDF file can also be downloaded and saved using this button.

The link below will also download this information in an Excel spreadsheet.
